10 Frame Hive Kit

Telescoping Top 3&Prime wide skirt and rabbeted corners of 3/8&Prime plywood.  Heavier and harder to be blown off the hive, they are covered in .015 aluminum to protect the hive from the elements. 

Solid Reversible Bottom Board is made from high-quality exterior 3/4&Prime plywood to reduce rot and resist warping, and trimmed in Eastern White Pine.  This bottom board is built to last. 

3 Medium Finger Joint Hive Bodies are designed and milled carefully in the USA with 100% USA Eastern White Pine.  Standard 9 5/8&Prime in depth and 16 1/4&Prime wide, featuring a full top joint which greatly reduces breakage, and a 5/8&Prime routered frame rest. Handholds with deep, profiled uppercuts are easy to grip and allow water to run off the bottom.

The wooden parts are boiled in hot wax. During this process, moisture is forced out of the wood and wax is forced in. Once wax-dipped, they are ready to use!

Wax-dipped hive components are known to last for 20 years or more with zero maintenance.  Wax-dipped hives CANNOT be painted, but instead preserve the beautiful, natural wood appearance. The wood color will darken over time from exposure to the sun.  The beauty is that it won’t rot or deteriorate!

These wax-dipped hive components are made in the USA.  Amazon and Temu are made overseas.  Their “wax dipping” process involves a quick dip into a vat of warm liquid wax, which only coats the wood, rather than impregnating the wood like these hives. Their process will require re-coating every couple of years, while these will last for decades without maintenance.
